GLAZE RAW MATERIAL BATCHING

Glaze Raw Material Batching Systems automate the weighing, dosing and transfer of ceramic raw materials from storage to glaze preparation. Recipe-controlled automation helps reduce operator errors, improve batch consistency and create a controlled material flow tailored to each plant layout and production process.

OUR APPROACH

At a Glance

Automated weighing, dosing and transfer of ceramic raw materials for consistent, controlled and reliable glaze preparation.

WHY?

Accuracy Starts Before Mixing

Two Silos, Two Plaster Options

Consistent glaze begins with the right raw materials in the right quantities. Automated weighing and recipe-controlled dosing create a reliable foundation for every batch.

With two separate silos, two different plaster types can be used efficiently, providing greater flexibility for various production requirements.

WHY?

Repeatability Built Into Every Recipe

Two Silos, Two Plaster Options

PLC-controlled batching reduces the variability of manual dosing, helping production teams reproduce established recipes with greater consistency from batch to batch.

With two separate silos, two different plaster types can be used efficiently, providing greater flexibility for various production requirements.

WHY?

One Controlled Flow from Storage to Preparation

Two Silos, Two Plaster Options

Raw materials move from silos or bunkers directly toward blungers, drum mills or preparation tanks through an integrated transfer system, reducing unnecessary handling between process stages.

With two separate silos, two different plaster types can be used efficiently, providing greater flexibility for various production requirements.

WHY?

Engineered Around the Factory

Two Silos, Two Plaster Options

Every batching plant is configured around the actual storage layout, material characteristics, required destinations and production strategy — rather than forcing the plant around a standard machine.

With two separate silos, two different plaster types can be used efficiently, providing greater flexibility for various production requirements.

WHY?

Better Control for Better Glaze Stability

Two Silos, Two Plaster Options

Controlled raw material feeding supports more homogeneous preparation and more stable downstream glaze characteristics — protecting the consistency required for reliable ceramic production.

With two separate silos, two different plaster types can be used efficiently, providing greater flexibility for various production requirements.

Recipe-Controlled Automatic Batching

The automation system manages raw material selection, weighing and transfer according to predefined production recipes, creating a controlled sequence from storage to slip preparation.

Integrated Load-Cell Weighing

Storage hoppers can be equipped with multiple load cells directly communicating with the PLC, allowing material quantities to be measured digitally before controlled discharge. In the supplied project documentation, four load cells are used per hopper in one configuration.

Plant-Fit Material Transfer Architecture

Belt conveyors, transferring conveyors and project-specific screw conveyor solutions can be engineered according to material behaviour, plant layout and required transfer path. This allows the batching concept to be adapted to the production reality rather than standardised around a single conveyor arrangement.

Intelligent Multi-Destination Routing

Transfer sequences can automatically direct weighed raw materials toward the required blunger, drum mill, tank or storage destination. Movable or bidirectional conveyor arrangements can also be incorporated where the plant layout requires flexible distribution.

Central PLC & HMI Control

The system can integrate industrial PLC control, operator HMI, equipment status monitoring and fault alarms into one operating environment, giving production teams clear control over the complete batching process.

Process Data & Traceability Ready

Developed system configurations include WinCC and SQL-based data management for recording transferred material quantities over daily, weekly, monthly and annual periods, supporting production traceability and performance monitoring.
